Although sisters established permanent convents in many western areas, as members of organized religious orders, they were assigned and reassigned to missions in many locations. This chapter focuses on the epic journeys of traveling nuns and sisters. It describes the migration and settlement of these mission groups, who spent their work lives moving in, around, and out of many western locations.
