This chapter details events in Sidney Poitier's life from 1960–1962. These include Poitier's film Paris Blues with Diahann Carroll; his attendance of John F. Kennedy's inauguration; the death of his father Reginald in December 1961; his separation from his wife Juanita; and his filming of Lilies of the Field—a low-budget, black-and-white picture about a handyman and immigrant nuns.
