Little Zion All in the Soul

Little Zion All in the Soul

(p.161) Chapter Five Little Zion All in the Soul
Little Zion

Shelly O'foran

University of North Carolina Press

This chapter explores individual religious experiences of Little Zion's members and their expressions in this faith community. The narratives of church members detail their spiritual journeys of conversion, baptism, transcendence, voices and visions, and the call to preach. For some men in Little Zion's community, the call encourages them to turn their spirits outward and spread the Word to others.
