This chapter looks at behavioral patterns in Creekridge Park. It discusses how the ideology of diversity influences neighbourhood-based norms of interracial and intraracial contact. It also explains why White residents maintained monoracial social networks despite multiethnic integration in Creekridge Park. White residents expressed that they felt able to control the association of neighbors and resources in the neighborhood. The discussion concludes that the norms of high social distance and social control greatly impacts on the interaction between White and non-White residents.
